The Bigg Boss 18 Weekend Ka Vaar episode took a dramatic turn when Salman Khan confronted entrepreneur Ashneer Grover, accusing him of “doglapan,” or double standards—a phrase made popular by Grover during his stint on Shark Tank India.
Salman questioned Grover about his past comments regarding the actor’s fees for a brand endorsement deal. “I have heard you speaking about me. You said, ‘We signed him for this much, signed him for that much,’ and all your figures were wrong. So then, what is with the double standards?” Salman asked during the episode.
Grover’s remarks date back to April 2022, when he shared an anecdote at Lovely Professional University. He claimed Salman quoted ₹7.5 crore for the deal and that his manager dismissed attempts to negotiate with the quip, “Sir, aap bhindi khareedne aaye ho kya? Kitni maandvali karoge?” (Are you here to buy vegetables? How much will you bargain?).
On the show, Salman refuted the claim, calling the numbers incorrect. Grover clarified, “Maybe in the podcast, it did not come across correctly.” However, Salman shot back, “The way you are talking now, and the video I saw of you, this wasn’t your attitude back then.”
Grover’s earlier grievances about being barred from taking a picture with Salman also came up. The actor addressed it bluntly, saying he didn’t even know Grover’s name before this. “I just got to know you are coming here. I recognised your face from the video. I think you should be careful about how you present yourself,” Salman added.
After the episode aired, Grover responded on Elon Musk-owned microblogging platform X with a detailed post, defending his earlier statements and praising Salman as a host and actor. He said, “I hope you enjoyed the Bigg Boss weekend ka vaar ! I had good fun. And I am sure the particular episode got great TRP / viewership.”
“Finally, I got a picture with him, which I didn’t have earlier. Thanks, Salman Khan. Keep rocking!” he added.
